I want to say thanks for the site..Is there a way to remove or make the monitor hits .jpg on the page invisible?

    • Nick says:

      A. Check out our premium tracking codes! There are no ads and no links attached to premium tracking codes.

Our free service does include a MonitorHits.com badge with a link to your results. Since the website is completely free, I’m trying to be creative in the way I advertise. The badge also allows people without a MonitorHits.com login to track their Craigslist ads.

  2. Steve says:

Very useful site Nick. The one suggestion I would make through would be to add the capability to screen out my own IP address, since it counts visits to my own ads on Backpage and Craigslist when I renew the ads or add a new ad.

    • Nick says:

      Hey Steve,

Thanks for the recommendation! I will implement this sometime late September 2012. Thanks again for your support!

      • Nick says:

Late September turned into late October! Your current IP address is now filtered from the results. Thank you very much for your feedback.

        Thanks,

        Nick

  3. Bob says:

Is there a way to pay other than google?

  4. Joshua Whitney says:

Is there a way to change the NAME on our codes? I have three different codes that I am tracking and it would be nice to see which one is which. Thanks

    • Nick says:

You can add a name on both the free and premium services. On the free service, make sure you type a name before generating and inserting the code because you cannot change it after it is generated.

      Thanks,

      Nick

Why is the server so slow today? I just signed up. Today is
    9/22/12.

  6. Aaron says:

Is there a way to remove codes from ‘my codes’ list once I am done with them?

    • Nick says:

Not at this time. Codes will remove themselves from the list once they have been inactive for more than 30 days. I will work on a feature to “stop tracking” codes in the near future. Thank you for your feedback and involvement with the site!

      Nick

  7. Jonny says:

how long will the codes track before they quit working?

    • Nick says:

Free codes will track activity for the last 30 days. Technically a code will keep working as long as there is traffic to it.

Premium codes work the same way, but last for 6 months.

      Thanks,

      Nick

  8. Dave says:

    Hi,

I see you have the ability to not count visits from my ip address but I don’t see how to set that up.

    Thanks.

  9. Heather J Dempsey says:

What is the time zone the stamps are listed in? I posted ads at 11:45 am and the monitor says the last page view was at 9:48 am. I am thinking the time zone is pacific time and not central time where I am? Anyone know? Can this be changed?

    • Nick says:

      Hey Heather,

You are correct, the time stamps are Pacific. It’s not because I think we are the only people in the world that count… even though it is a very nice place to live :) . I will work after the holidays to match the displayed times to your current timezone.

I’m a one man show and have so much I need to do!

      Cheers,

      Nick

      • Steven says:

Well please try to make it so we can set the timezone because when people are at work or using vpn it will set it to a timezone that they are not in…

  10. Steven says:

It would be nice to look at past daily stats and not just 24, 48, then 3 days. I would like to be able to do the past 24 hours then the 24 hours before that and so on.

  11. Bella says:

How can you tell from the reports that your ad has been flagged, and by whom?

    • Nick says:

      Bella,

I do not think our service can help determine who flagged your post. If anyone else has ideas, jump in!

      Thank You,

      Nick

  12. Jim Johnson says:

How about a reset button? Or a downloadable database? Ya got my $3 and it seems that’s what this was worth. I’ll be seeing ya.

  13. allen says:

Hey Nick, I love the service and cant complain about the premium price :) Since having an injury at work and being self employed I have started selling items on CL. I buy and sell laptops, snowblowers, whatever I run into I guess. Im hoping you can make a new bog post with any tips/tricks to avoid the flagging. I know its beating a dead horse but I can not figure it out. I spend hours a day babysitting my ads and its killing me. With your service I was able to pin point the worst offender. Do some digging, and track down his name/number/address/alternate email. Thankfully I am a non confrontational geek but i have to admit I have set up times to meet him to “buy an item” he is selling. I like to meet late and half way. So he gets to drive 35 mins each way after loading a trailer and snowmobiles. Im unsure if I should just email him and say knock it off. I know who you are, but that sounds kind of threatening. Nick any help you could give would be appreciated by all who frequent here.

If I can help in any way, let me know. I have 20 years in IT. I have developed some nifty tricks on CL and do not mind sharing a few how-to’s for your blog.

    thank you

    allen

    • Nick says:

      Allen,

Thank you for the feedback. I wasn’t planning on writing about flagging issues, but I’ll take a stab at it. Give me a week or so to put together a post.

      Cheers,

      Nick

I love this. I have my own site and I also use craigslist. This is wonderful for someone like me! I’m not the greatest at computer and this helps me so much. It is easier to use then what comes with my site. For me this is like “tracking for dummies” one copy and paste, then look at the results with one click. Definitely worth the money. THANKS!

  15. Dave says:

    Hi Nick,

Can you tell us more about CL not allowing image tags? Seems like they still work.

    Thanks.

  16. Dave says:

    Hi Nick,

What time zone are your visitor date & time stamps in? Mountain?

Any way to adjust to my time zone (Eastern)?

    Thanks.

  17. Dave says:

    Hi Nick,

    Anyway to stay signed in?

    Thanks.
